Our approach
Nerd.I.L. collects only the information needed to review nominations, respond to inquiries, verify achievements, and—with appropriate permission—recognize students. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information we collect
A nomination may include a student’s name, school, grade, achievement details, category, and optional supporting links. We also collect the submitter’s name, email address, relationship to the student, and confirmation about the accuracy and use of the information. Contact and partnership inquiries may include a name, email address, organization, role, and message.
How we use information
We use submitted information to evaluate program fit, ask follow-up questions, verify details, communicate a decision, improve the recognition program, and prepare a spotlight or award when selected. A nomination does not automatically become public.
Students and public recognition
Before publishing identifying student information, a photo, or an individual spotlight, Nerd.I.L. will seek appropriate permission and may request verification from the student, parent or guardian, school, or submitter. We encourage submitters not to include sensitive medical, financial, disciplinary, immigration, or identification information.
Sharing and service providers
We may use service providers to host the website, store submissions, and support communications. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect students, users, or the integrity of the program. We do not share nomination information for unrelated advertising.
Retention and choices
We keep submission information only as long as reasonably needed for review, verification, recognition cycles, recordkeeping, and program integrity. A student, parent or guardian, or submitter may ask us to correct or remove information by using our contact form. We may need to verify the request.
Website technology
The site may use essential technical data needed for security, reliability, and form delivery. Nerd.I.L. does not intentionally use advertising trackers on this website.
